Lyrics and image mismatch
The song was by a youthful Mick Jones 米克·瓊斯 to his school friends who'd been imprisoned (for petty crimes) and released. London in the mid-late 70s wasn't a place to make it in the job market.
Hong Kong youth who're leading the protests aren't thieving anything. Many of them are highly compensated professionals in IT, finance, marketing, etc. If they're detained by the popo, it's for political reasons. So, Stay Free would have a different meaning.
Why put them together? I dunno. I just felt it and made this in one sitting. Maybe it was the line, "[We] never took no shit from no one. We weren't fools."
The problem with CCP/PRC culture is that they demand obedience to their bullshit. So, 拒絕盲從 逆權抗命!
