The full BBC Question Time panel includes Tory chairman James Cleverly, SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford, deputy Lib Dem leader Ed Davey, Richard Tice and Labour’s Anneliese Dodds - who stepped in at the last minute to replace Jon Ashworth after he pulled out in protest of an all-male line up. Social media users have criticised the BBC for allowing the Brexit Party chairman to appear on the show as they claim he is given too much coverage. Many have hit out at the broadcaster for giving Nigel Farage’s party a platform when the Brexit Party have no elected MPs. One person said: “You do know Richard Tice is a member of a party with NO MPs? And apparently the BBC is trying to be impartial.” Another user wrote: “Yet again another BXP Ltd MEP. A party with no UK MPs, no manifesto, no policies, no members and an unelected leader.” A third heavily criticised the BBC for giving the Brexit Party a platform, when they currently stand at just four percent in the polls. They wrote: “Who decides policy to constantly platform Brexit Party - they are polling at under four percent, have no seats, have never held a seat and are projected to return no seats? “There’s a good case to include DUP and/or Sinn Fein before BXP given that 18 MPs are guaranteed to be returned from NI.” Another person asked why the Green Party, which has en elected MP, is not getting the same preferential treatment. They said: “I know Caroline Lucas was on last week but I have this question: how many times has the Brexit Party been on? “And how many times has The Green Party been on? “Both parties are neck & neck in many polls and BXP has no MPs.” A second person agreed and wrote: “No women, no Greens (who do actually have an MP, and will still have after the election, unlike the Brexit party) - this is ridiculous. “I shan’t watch as it would be bad for my blood pressure.” Others pointed out that Mr Tice is often appearing on the programme, having featured on last week’s BBC election debate. During the episode, that saw seven representatives from each the UK’s main political parties, Mr Tice clashed with Nicole Sturgeon over the future of the NHS. When the panel was first announced last night, many criticised the BBC for inviting an all-male panel. One person said: “Every single female in the country was busy, apparently.” Another person wrote: “Your panel seems to be rather low on its representation of 51 percent of society.” Trending A third joked: “Are the ladies at home making mince pies?!” But Ms Dodds, the Oxford East Labour candidate, will now be appearing on the show after Mr Ashworth stood aside.
