Cattle Panel High Tunnel: Extending Tender Plants Beyond Frost

Cattle Panel High Tunnel: Extending Tender Plants Beyond Frost
We love our cattle panel high tunnels for mid-season warmth, to help ripen tomatoes and peppers, etc. They are great to get seedlings started early spring as well. A subtle but valuable additional yield from them is the ability to extend the season just a bit for frost tender plants like Tulsi, Molokhia, Malibar Spinach, perennial gingers, etc. They provide extended browse for bees, help ripen seeds that may not outside in the cold, etc. Having a few nights now where in the morning a heavy frost was sitting on leaves, the space in the high tunnel is a nice protection, giving us even a few extra weeks of growing for our frost tender friends.
