Security footage has captured a group of workers going above and beyond to help rescue a raccoon that had become trapped in their dumpster. Captured in Asheville, North Carolina, the footage shows James Campbell casually taking out the recycling, only to jump back as he lifted the lid and discovered the animal inside. James - who works for SCW, a security company who happened to have a camera in the right place to capture the moment - then turned to his colleague, Seth Rogers, for help. The pair tried using a broom to help encourage the raccoon out of the dumpster, but initially the animal did not want to budge. So, on July 17, Seth and James left the broom propped in the corner of the dumpster, splashed the critter with water to wake it up, and left animal to climb its own way to freedom. Sure enough, the plan worked: the raccoon climbed the broom of its own accord - a moment that was also captured on SWC's camera. What made the story even more amusing was how the animal got there in the first place. James and Seth had assumed someone had left the lid open, but, in fact, the footage later showed the raccoon had physically opened the heavy lid and clambered inside.
