UniServer is a multinational project that targets the development of a universal micro-server architecture and software ecosystem awarded full funding (4.8M €) by the E.U. Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program. UniServer aspires to deliver by 2019 a unique fully working prototype that will turn the opportunities in the emerging Big Data and IoT markets into real, smarter products that can improve the everyday life and lead to a substantial financial and employment growth. The project consortium is led by Queen's University Belfast and consists of partners with a unique blend of expertise, including world’s leading low-power processor and Server-on-Chip suppliers (ARM, APM) as well as a system software developer (IBM), and a set of emerging application drivers (WorldSensing, Sparsity, Meritorius) and established research organisations (Queen's University Belfast, University of Athens, Univ. of Thessaly, Univ. of Cyprus).
