Brazilian troops have started to be deployed in the Amazon in an attempt to fight a record number of forest fires. Forty-four thousand soldiers will be deployed in what the government are calling "unprecedented" operations to get on top of a crisis which has provoked anti-government protests and pressure from leading world powers.
