GYSOS-P-060: Countering a Roundhouse Kick to the Midsection

GYSOS-P-060: Countering a Roundhouse Kick to the Midsection Growing your Sense of Self Through Self Defense physical episode 60 presents the first counter in this program to a striking attack. The strike is a roundhouse kick to the midsection. If a strike cannot be avoided, the damage it can do is minimized in a manner similar to minimizing damage from a fall. The goal is to spread the impact out over space and time. By receiving and moving with the attacker’s kick you not only reduce the risk of being hurt but you put them in a compromised position for a counter attack. In this video, two pressure points are identified in the co0ntext of this defense. Extreme caution is advised when activating these pressure points. A kick or knee to spleen-11 can result in a loss of consciousness to the person receiving that blow. An example of the danger can be seen in the video referenced below. Only tap or rub the pressure points shown in this video.
