17 patients with deformity to undergo a free corrective surgery at Aga Khan Hospital About 17 people with deformity caused by burns have been identified to undergo a free corrective surgery at Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa.
The hospital will be screening victims and identify those in dire need to undergo corrective surgery and schedule them for surgery which will be done on August 15.
Consultant surgeon at the hospital Dr Abdi Hakim Mohammed has said already patient from as far as western have come for the screening process.
“The screening will be done throughout the month of July, each day we would be identifying patients to undergo surgery, it is going to be strictly for medical purpose and not cosmetic, we are targeting 30 patients to benefit from this,” said Dr Abdi Hakim.
Aga Khan Hospital has partnered with Reconstructing Women International to offer free screenings for women and girls in need of reconstructive surgery.
