In today's video, Christian dives into three different price brackets of Omega Seamaster Diver 300m alternatives. The first alternative is from Baume et. Mercier, their Clifton Club Ref. 10502, which retails for $2,790. It comes on a rubber or calf strap, is 42mm in case diameter, and features a 100m water resistance. The watch is powered by the ETA 2892-A2 movement, an automatic caliber with a date, as well as hacking and hand-winding.
The second watch is the LIV Ceramic Diver, a $490 watch with a 41 or 44mm case diameter. It comes mounted on a rubber dive strap, features a whopping 300m of water resistance (quickly becoming the new standard in the world of dive watches), and is powered by the ETA 2824 automatic movement. The major connection, stylistically, is the wave pattern engraved in the dial, a design feature that has been associated with the Seamaster Diver 300m since the early 1990s when it was first majorly introduced.
The final alternative comes from the proper originator of the dive watch, Blancpain, with their new Fifty Fathoms "Barracuda." The watch retails for around $13k, and comes in at 42mm in case diameter, with a rubber, tropic style strap. With a 300m water resistance, the Barracuda certainly holds its own under the briny deep, and it's powered by an automatic Co-Axial movement, marking one of the first times a watch from the Swatch Group has been powered by one that ISN'T Omega.
