A White Christmas: this is when it snows on Christmas Day. There's a famous song called "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" - watch that here:
To go cold turkey: this means to give up something suddenly. For example, I sometimes go cold turkey when giving up coffee. It's hard! You don't ease off it, instead, you just stop doing something.
It's the thought that counts: when you get a present that isn't the greatest, you can say, "Well, it's the thought that counts." - this means that the thought of getting a present is the most important thing.
