When you have chronic insomnia, be sure to take every win​ and give yourself credit for every win! Although living with chronic insomnia is hard, there will always be some positive moments — especially if you are implementing cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques to improve your sleep for the long term.

It's so important that, whenever you notice a positive moment, an improvement, an enjoyable moment, you give yourself credit and recognize the win!

Don't make excuses for these wins — if you get a good night of sleep, don't tell yourself that the good sleep only happened because you had a run of bad nights, because you were at the gym that day, because you drank a certain type of tea, or took a certain pill or supplement.
