MSI GF65 Thin S5E Review - Light and Fast for Gaming and Video Editing

MSI GF65 Thin S5E Review - Light and Fast for Gaming and Video Editing MSI GF65 Thin 95E a light, fast, and thin laptop suited for video editing and gaming. I am very surprised by the power and price of this MSI laptop. ►⏩►⏩ Check specs and pricing in the links below…

The MSI GF65 Thin took me by surprise from the first moment I pulled it out of the box. It was substantially thinner and lighter than every other gaming laptop I have reviewed on my channel. It has a brushed alloy top cover and keyboard deck, which was a nice touch upon opening it for the first time.

The side panels and bottom cover are plastic as well as the thin bezel surrounding the screen. The GF65 has a good selection of ports.

HDMI Port
USB-C x2
USB 3.2
Headphone/Mic Jack
Network Port

Everything you need for dual monitors and importing video/photo files with a USB dongle. I like the keyboard. It is quiet, soft, and spacious. Sometimes manufacturers place the keyboard to close to the edge of the keyboard deck and it makes it feel like your hands are going to slip off. Not the case here. MSI has a well-placed keyboard.

Sorry MSI, but I do not like the trackpad. If you are a graphic designer and you are used to using a trackpad for your daily design tasks you will be disappointed. It is lacking the gesture and click sensitivity necessary for a good trackpad.

This is a great screen for gamers. At 120Hz you will be pleased with the refresh rate and lack of lagginess. If you are a graphic designer or video editor looking into this laptop you will be disappointed with the color gamut as it falls below most peoples preferred color gamut range at:
sRGB Color Gamut - 62%
Adobe RGB Gamut - 46%
But to be honest I have a Dell XPS 15 with 100% color gamut and I don’t edit on that screen. I use external monitors. So if you will be using external monitors for video editing than the color gamut range is not a concern. You simply need a powerful laptop, which we will dive into in just a minute.

This laptop weighs in at 4.85 Lbs making it a great on the go powerful laptop but don’t leave home without that charger. At 51Whrs this battery will give you roughly 2 hours of battery life. Gaming and video editing both take a lot of power. If you were simply browsing online you may get more battery life, but not for every computing tasks.

This laptop is thin, light, and well built, but how is the performance? Let’s take a look at the technical specs and then see how they match up to so real-world tests.
