HOW TO COOK A TENDER & JUICY THANKSGIVING TURKEY

HOW TO COOK A TENDER & JUICY THANKSGIVING TURKEY Follow along while I show you how to oven roast a turkey to perfection!

Starting with 12 lb. frozen turkey, I first thawed it overnight in a sink of cool water, swapping the water for fresh water every few hours until completely thawed. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. I then dried the carcass and filled it with fresh garlic, lemon, sage, parsley and rosemary. Next, tie the legs and slather the bird with butter, followed by salt and pepper. Cook the bird, covered with foil, breast down for 2 hours. Remove foil, baste and back into the oven for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. At this point we will flip the turkey, baste and back into the oven. We will monitor the temperature with a digital read thermometer from here on out, looking for 160-165 degrees on the white meat, 165-170 degrees for the dark meat. When turkey reads the appropriate temperature, take out, tent with foil to rest for 30 minutes.

Thanks for watching and return for some of my favorite home made sides. Enjoy!!!
