What Should You Name Your Podcast? Should You Protect the Trademark by Filing with the USPTO?

What Should You Name Your Podcast? Should You Protect the Trademark by Filing with the USPTO? Happy International Podcast Day!

In this video, I talk about HOW to create a great name for your podcast, some tips for checking for name availability, and I discuss whether a filing with the USPTO is important.

In the video, I forgot to mention that if you file a trademark application for your podcast, it looks like the services fall into International Class (IC) 41:

"Entertainment services, namely, providing podcasts in the field of {indicate subject matter or field}."

Shoutout to LibSyn: www.LibSyn.com (Libsyn is the combination of Liberated and Syndication and has from the start stayed true to developing a platform where podcasters have the freedom they need to deliver the kind of podcast they want.) Great portmanteau!

And finally, I am not your attorney. This information provided on my YouTube Channel and this video is for education and entertainment. I do my best to stay up-to-date with changes in the law but remember, like us, the laws are constantly evolving, thank goodness! You should hire an attorney to discuss your specific situation.
