Troubleshooting: Loosening Up Stuck Wingnuts On Adjustable Shower Arm Extension

Do you have a HammerHead Showers Adjustable Shower Arm and can't seem to get the nuts to adjust?

We make the gears/teeth on our adjustable shower arm extension very deep so they can support a good deal of shower head weight without stripping. Due to this, you need not only loosen up the wingnuts on the shower arm extension, but you need to wiggle the fittings out to disconnect the internal gears.

The first time you attempt this you may need a little extra force. But once you disconnect them the first time it becomes easier in the future.

Here's how:

1. Slightly loosen up the wingnut on either side of the shower arm.
2. Wiggle and pull the nut away from the body of the shower arm to disconnect the gears.
3. Adjust the fitting to your desired position.
4. Push the fitting back in with the gears lined up so that it is flush.
5. Tighten the wingnut back down.
