Homer Township at the Special Town Meeting to stop the building of an event center said it is just in the idea stage, their are no plans to move forward. Now the Township tries to slip it in by not explaining what the purpose of seeking grants for Open space is all about. (60 ILCS 1/150‑40)
Sec. 150‑40. Maintenance tax; referendum.
(a) Any township that acquires community buildings by dedication, gift, purchase, or erection may levy annually a maintenance tax of not more than 0.05% of the value of all taxable property in the township, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue.
