The setting up of the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) will complement the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), contributing towards the well-being of the people. PKR Baram publicity chief, Boyce Ngau Anyi, believed the MPKK would not cause problem in the village management but enhance unity and solidarity amongst the villages.
“The MPKK does not do away with JKKK duties, programmes and planning but will be supporting each other for the wellness of the villages,” he told a press conference in Miri today.
He reminded that the village chief will remain the head of the community, hence there should be no issue of two headmen ruling the village. (Oct 23, 2019)
