The New South Wales Coroner is set to recommend the introduction of pill testing at music festivals as well as reduced police powers. In a draft report following an inquest into six music festival drug deaths, the state coroner also called for an end to sniffer dogs and body searches.
Senior police and government ministers have firmly opposed the introduction of pill testing. The coroner's recommendations will be formally handed down next month.
