Secretary of State Steve Simon says Minnesota was one of 21 states targeted by a foreign government in 2016. He talked about election security measures in Golden Valley on Monday night. “It’s no secret Minnesota was one of 21 states that was targeted by a foreign government in 2016,” said Simon. “We have our presidential election coming up and people are rightly asking, what can we do to prepare? What happened in 2016? What can we learn from it and is our vote secure? Spoiler alert… The answer is yes. Votes are secure, but we want people to understand why that is.”
Simon also shared thoughts on why Minnesota’s voter turnout is historically high.
