I drove through Michigan's rural countryside. This is what I saw. Rural Michigan has some crazy backwood spots! Unlike most midwestern states, the rural areas of Michigan are really pretty.

Some of the best parts of Michigan are the rural parts. On this drive, we went through Western Michigan, specifically in Ottawa County. We drove past blueberry fields, corn fields, apple orchards, pretty barns and a couple of small towns.

We ended up at the Grand River.

About 18% of Michigan's population lives in rural areas like this, some of which are more crowded than others.
