Finlay Sutton - Removable partial dentures

Finlay Sutton - Removable partial dentures I present a Scandinavian technique used to make partial dentures function like “removable bridges”. This system allows for future tooth additions onto cobalt chromium minor connectors in the event of support teeth failure. This is based on splinting mobile teeth protecting the periodontium from occlusal forces. I will show the steps to achieve predictable results including cases having had failed dental implants.

Learning Outcomes:
1. To have see the construction methods and function of partial dentures which work like removable bridges, protecting the periodontium of compromised abutment teeth.
2. To appreciate that well designed and well-made removable dentures are a valid alternative to implant supported restorations
3. To learn a system of partial denture design which anticipates future abutment failure allowing artificial tooth additions onto cobalt chromium minor connectors of the denture at a later date.
