BREXIT: 'Twists, turns & political developments in UK but EU position is STABLE', says Brussels

British Brexit negotiator David Frost is not expected to offer new ideas to replace the Irish backstop when he arrives in Brussels for talks with the European Union on Wednesday, British and European diplomats and officials said.

Meanwhile the European Commission has issued a final call for businesses and other organisations to prepare for a no-deal Brexit.

European Commission spokeswoman Mina Andreeva said: "A no-deal scenario in eight weeks' time remains a possible, although undesirable, outcome."
