Fabric Structure and Design is a core topic of Textile Engineering. Today i have discussed on Woven Fabric Structure and Design Differences. Fabric Structure are mainly two types. These are Simple Structure and Compound Structure.

According to Design, Fabric Design are four types. These are Plain (Solid Colour), Stripe, Check and Cross-over.

We can classify Simple Structure into three classes
Plain Weave or Design or Structure
Twill Weave or Design or Structure
Satin or Sateen Weave or Design or Structure

Again we can differentiate Plain, Twill and Sateen in 10 contexts
1. Construction of the weave design.
2. Binding point
3. Floating of yarn
4. Appearance and Texture
5. Thread Density
6. Structural Firmness
7. Thickness of Fabric
8. Mass or GSM
9. Cover Factor
10. Seam Strength.
