*NEW* RhinoShield Design Your Own Case: Cool Custom Options for SolidSuit and Mod NX!

*NEW* RhinoShield Design Your Own Case: Cool Custom Options for SolidSuit and Mod NX! Want a slim, super protective case that is uniquely your own? The RhinoShield SolidSuit and Mod NX cases now have a Design Your Own Case option which allows you to add custom text to your case in a number of different formats. There is even a custom photo option, but that was added to the lineup later and is not covered by this review. The text options are: Custom Text, Premium Stamping, and Memento, and they allow for a pretty wide range of customization.

Custom Text is the most flexible: You can have horizontal or vertical text, with up to three lines of text, and up to 36 characters per line in horizontal mode up to 15 characters per line in vertical mode. You can specify font color, font type, and case background color. There is also a freestyle mode where you are not constrained by number of characters per line, and you can choose font size as well, but that is a bit trickier to use, and you may end up with text that doesn’t fit on the case properly. The Custom Text option is available on the plain ‘classic’ SolidSuit cases—you can choose from white, black, gray and blush pink base case options. For the Mod NX, the Custom Text is either printed on a clear or a colored backplate, and being a Mod NX case, you naturally have the option to choose your preferred frame color as well.

Premium Stamping is perhaps a fancier looking option, with either gold or silver stamped text on either a plain or a leather case, for the SolidSuit, or a clear, solid color, or fancy marbled ‘mineral’ backplate for the Mod NX case. For the Mod NX, you can choose a frame color as well. Two font choices are available and a maximum of 6 letters are allowed.

Memento, which I don’t have any personal experience with, is designed to allow you to make phone cases that look like the back of team shirts. A name (limited to 13 characters) and a number are allowed, and font color, style and background can be specified.

Being SolidSuit and Mod NX cases, these custom cases are of course compatible with RhinoShield’s Add-On Lenses, and they are customizable by switching out button colors as well, although both of those options would need to be purchased separately.

The Design Your Own Case option is available for a wide range of devices—a bunch of iPhone models, and quite a few Android phones as well. In terms of pricing, I only looked at the two phone types that I was reviewing here—iPhone XR and iPhone Xs Max. The prices for the various options are the same for both phones, but things vary depending upon whether you select the SolidSuit, Mod NX or Mod NX Backplate only option. For SolidSuit, Custom Text and Memento versions cost $34.99 and Premium Stamping is $36.99 for a plain case and $46.99 for a leather case. The Mod NX full case options are priced the same as the SolidSuit for Custom Text and Memento, but the Premium Stamping for Mod NX runs $38.99 - $41.99, depending on backplate type. And obviously, the Backplate only option is going to be the cheapest, running $12.99 for the Custom Text and Memento and $16.99-$19.99 for Premium Stamping. Lots of fun options here for case customization—many thanks to the kind folks at RhinoShield for sending me out these samples to review. For more info, check out the Design Your Own Case tool:
