Sacramento County Sheriff's Department
Deputy Robert Carpenter of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responds to a call of a man acting recklessly in his apartment. The caller explains that the man is throwing furniture and he is forcefully trying to remove his air conditioning unit. Deputy Carpenter arrives on the scene and approaches the agitated man. The man yells out proclamations and refuses to comply with commands because he claims that he is ex-military. The man eventually allows himself to be cuffed after deciding it was best not to be tasered or to resist. He also admits to using meth earlier in the day. After surveying the damage to his property, the deputies decide to involuntarily commit the man for observation in hopes that he can receive medical attention.
