Early evening saw towering Cumulonimbus clouds and thunderstorms popping over coastal CT and Long Island Sound, those storms eventually got closer to Long Island. After 7pm there were towering Cumulonimbus to the north and skies quickly grew dark over Hicksville by 7:30pm. Around 8pm shelf cloud formations were visible to the NW, and back at Mineola the storms blew up over the North Shore of Nassau and put on quite a display of lightning between 8:30 & 9pm.
