Sonko supervises as former Simmers restaurant is demolished for a second time Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was in hand to supervise as a prime piece of land located in the heart of the city, where Simmers Restaurant once stood, was demolished for a second time on Wednesday night.
Witnesses said that county bulldozers descended on the premises a few minutes after 1 in the morning.
“Sonko was in his car watching as the bulldozers demolished everything in the middle of the night,” said one of the youths who had been guarding the business.
He added that a business owner who had an M-Pesa shop lost a safe but he was not sure if it had any valuables.
A hydraulic alignment was also destroyed in the process.
