Following the ongoing heavy rains across Maharashtra, the water levels at the historical Pashan lake in Pune began overflowing on July 8. Children were seen making the most of the opportunity by taking showers and playing with the overflowing draft of water, although, the ongoing downpours have made life difficult for citizens of the city. On June 28 at least 15 people, including four children, lost their lives when a compound wall of a residential complex fell down on a group of shanties following the heavy rains.
