Building a Hunting Cabin 3: Installing Wood Trusses

Building a Hunting Cabin 3: Installing Wood Trusses In episode 3 of Building a Hunting Cabin, we wrap up wall framing and start installing wood trusses. Installing the trusses is usually once of my favorite parts of any building. What made this truss install even better was using the JCB telehandler with the truss jib. It was so smooth and responsive to operate and with a 10,000lb capacity, I never had to worry about sticking those trusses all the way out and over the walls. Also, the ability to build an entire truss set on the ground where it was safe, and then to install the truss set has been a goal of mine for a long time. It was cool to finally do it....even if I almost made a big mistake

I always grab my Stabila LAX300G when need to get that perfect plumb mark on a building. Levels work great, but you can't beat the simplicity and perfection of a really good laser...and who doesn't love lasers.
