Mark learned he had a stammer (stutter) after asking his primary school teacher he had a crush on to go to the toilet and struggled. An embarrassing memory for him. He tried to cope with it the best he could despite having difficulty at school.
He struggled in silence for nearly 20 years before unloading everything to his family leading to him breaking down in front of them.
This action led to the change he needed. With help from his family, he discovered the Starfish project, a stammering management charity, over the next few years he gained control over his stammer and eventually became a mentor to over people with the condition.
