A furniture maker claims he has been advised by safety inspectors to stop using a broom to sweep his factory as it can cause serious harm to the health of workers. Michael Northcroft, who says he is a furniture maker to the stars, was told by the Health and Safety Executive that sweeping sawdust was exposing his workers to "a substance hazardous to health, namely airborne wood dust".
