D-Day: Veterans share remarkable stories of landings 75 years on | ITV News

To mark 75 years since D-Day, 300 veterans are returning to Normandy on a special voyage on the cruise ship MV Boudicca to where they landed on the 6th June 1944. These are some of their remarkable stories of what happened that day.

On 6th June 1944, the Allied forces began to liberate France from Nazi occupation. On D-Day itself, 4,400 Allied soldiers were killed.
