It was so fun training my sister last week while on vacation! We found the ONLY gym in Sebastopol, CA πŸ˜‚ and I put her through a leg day πŸ‹πŸ½‍♀️, and she pretty much died πŸ˜…πŸ₯΅ one exercise we did was a dumbbell sumo deadlift.

BEGINNERS- it’s key πŸ”‘ that you nail the form on this exercise. Deadlifts are a complex movement, so focus on FORM before anything! In order to help, place a bench or box πŸ“¦ behind you to sit on. ❗️This was a huge lifesaver to help my sister better understand πŸ’‘ the movement. This will train you to hinge at the hips & sit your booty WAY back. Use a light dumbbell, keep your chest up, and knees apart.

ADVANCED- grab a heavy dumbbell (I’m using 50 lbs) and place your feet 🦢🏽 on a surface that’s going to give you some height so you can get super deep. In my case, I used 2 benches. Don’t worry, the gym was dead empty πŸ˜‚ I wasn’t taking any equipment away from anyone 😘 get LOW, keep the weight in the heels of your feet, chest upright, and flex your glutes HARD 😀 to stand up.
