A new promising technology are spot weldable inserts. These weldable load introducing elements can easily be integrated during the manufacturing of composite parts. High volume processes such as Resign transfer molding or thermoforming of organo sheets are compatible. This allows the economical use of resistance spot welding for composite/metal joints in future car body constructions.
